Abdominal, pelvic and thyroid ultrasound examination
- Abdomen, pelvis, thyroid The three most important areas in a single visit.
- Immediate report Detailed report at the end of the examination.
- Radiation-free Can be repeated as often as needed, and is safe for expectant mothers too.
- Prevention Tiny thyroid nodules can be seen when they are only millimetres in size.
When is this combined examination package recommended?
We assess the abdominal organs, the pelvic structures and the thyroid at the same time — so you can get answers to digestive and hormonal questions in a single visit.
-
General health check
If you want to know in a single visit whether everything is fine with your most important organs.
-
Suspected hormonal disorders
If you have abdominal complaints alongside tiredness, hair loss or sudden weight change.
-
Digestive and urinary disorders
When bloating, changes in bowel habits or urinary complaints occur together.
-
A lump-in-the-throat feeling
If you feel tension in the lower abdomen as well as discomfort in the neck.
-
Gynaecological or urological screening
To check the condition of the uterus, ovaries or prostate.
-
Monitoring chronic conditions
For regular follow-up of reduced liver, kidney or thyroid function.
-
Family history
If there is a family history of thyroid disease or abdominal organ tumours.
-
Unexplained inflammatory processes
To look for hidden foci of disease in the body.
One appointment, three areas — and you have the report in your hand by the end of the examination.
This list is for information only and does not replace a specialist examination. A structural examination of the thyroid does not replace measuring hormone levels — the two together give the full picture. The examination is currently available at our Debrecen centre. If you have any questions, call us: 06-1-413-2500 (H–P 9–17).
Why choose combined screening at Endomedix?
-
01
A comprehensive diagnosis in a single visit
You do not need to book separate appointments for the neck and the abdomen. This package efficiently combines the three most important areas, saving you time while our specialists see how your body works as a whole.
-
02
Immediate report and medical explanation
At the end of the examination, you do not have to wait days for the result. Our doctor evaluates the images immediately, measures the size of the organs and hands you a detailed report, including any treatment recommendations.
-
03
Radiation-free and can be repeated as often as needed
Since neither the thyroid nor the abdominal examination involves harmful radiation, this procedure is the safest way to monitor your condition regularly — whether for expectant mothers, children or older patients.
How should you prepare for the examination?
For a pin-sharp image, please follow the instructions below — each of the three areas examined has different requirements.
-
01
Abdominal part
Arrive on an empty stomach: do not eat, chew gum or smoke for 5–6 hours before the examination.
-
02
Pelvic part
1 hour before the examination, drink about half a litre of still water and arrive with a full bladder.
-
03
Thyroid part
No special preparation is needed, but clothing that leaves the neck easily accessible (a shirt or T-shirt) makes the examination easier.
-
04
Fluids
Drink only plain still water; avoid milk, coffee and sugary drinks.
Did you know?
Five questions and answers about the combined ultrasound examination.
-
Did you know that tiny thyroid nodules are already visible when they are only a few millimetres in size?
This often allows us to head off more serious problems years in advance.
-
Did you know that a full bladder improves the visibility of the pelvic organs?
The fluid helps to conduct the sound waves, giving us a clearer image of the deeper-lying structures.
-
Did you know that ultrasound also reveals the condition of the walls of the abdominal blood vessels?
Checking the abdominal aorta is part of routine screening.
-
Did you know that the examination fee can be paid from your health fund account?
This way you can invest in prevention with the help of a tax benefit.
-
Did you know that the gel used for the examination is hypoallergenic and water-based?
It does not stain clothing and is easily wiped off the skin.
Can also be paid from a health fund account
The examination fee can of course also be paid from your health fund account — our colleagues will be happy to give you the details. The list of health funds that work with Endomedix can be found here.
