A new gastroenterology clinic was inaugurated on Tuesday in Debrecen. The Endomedix centre, located at 28 Nyugati utca, aims to facilitate the prevention, screening and treatment of diseases such as colorectal cancer, lactose intolerance and fructose intolerance.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Alajos Takáts, the director of Endomedix, based in Budapest, said that the company, which has six clinics (Budapest, Gyula, Győr, Miskolc, Siófok, Veszprém) and additional blood collection points, had tried to open a centre in Debrecen before, but it failed. However, preliminary surveys suggest that there is now a good chance that they will be needed, as waiting lists for endoscopic examinations are very long.
Dr. László Szegedi, head of the institute in Debrecen, explained that their main profile includes colorectal cancer screening (which is performed with the most modern equipment), but they also perform gastroscopy, polyp removal, food intolerance and histological examinations.
You can register via the company's call centre in Budapest. László Szegedi stressed that, as colon cancer is unfortunately a very common disease, it is highly recommended that people over fifty years of age should be screened.
