Rectoscopy with specialist consultation
More than half of the population in developed countries suffers from haemorrhoids. In the early stages, suppositories, sitz baths and lifestyle changes can still help, but in stage II and III this is no longer enough: in these cases, we most often treat haemorrhoids by placing a rubber band (rubber band ligation, Barron ligation) with the help of an anoscope.

When is a specialist consultation needed?

How should you prepare for the examination?

Quick cleansing on site
You do not need to fast or take laxatives at home. When you arrive, you receive a small product applied on the spot (LaxaClean), which gently cleans the section of bowel to be examined within 15 minutes.

Before the examination, you discuss your complaints with our doctor in a discreet setting, so all your questions are answered before anything happens.

A gentle examination
The examination is carried out with you lying on your left side. The doctor examines the rectum first with a finger, then with a thin, single-use instrument (anoscope). This is not painful; at most it may cause a brief feeling of pressure.

An immediate solution
If appropriate, we perform rubber band ligation of your haemorrhoids straight away, during the consultation, so you can leave with the problem already solved.

After the examination
You can carry on with your day straight after the procedure; no rest or observation is needed.
