Flexible preparation
Thanks to modern technology, you do not need to arrive on an empty stomach; the device still evaluates accurately. You only need to make sure you stop the specified acid-reducing and antibiotic medicines as instructed.

Quick and gentle blood sampling
Our assistants perform the test in designated time slots (Tuesdays and Thursdays between 13:00 and 15:00). Sampling is quick and gentle and takes place in a friendly clinic setting.

Fixed-time digital analysis
The blood sample is placed straight into the BIOHIT rapid test system. In 30–45 minutes, the device analyses the structural and functional profile of the stomach lining based on objective quantitative data.

Expert evaluation and patient pathway
The detailed report produced by the device is evaluated by our gastroenterology specialists. Based on the results, we determine the exact treatment recommendation or, if necessary, targeted medical treatment.

While Helicobacter tests — such as the breath test — do not detect structural damage to the stomach, this panel also indicates atrophic gastritis, which is one of the main risk factors for stomach cancer.
Did you know that atrophy of the stomach lining can cause vitamin deficiency?
If pepsinogen I levels are persistently low, the stomach cannot produce enough of what is known as intrinsic factor, which can lead to severe vitamin B12 deficiency and iron-deficiency anaemia.

What to bear in mind before the test
Important information and preparing for the test
For an accurate result, proton pump inhibitors (PPI acid reducers) must be stopped completely 10–14 days before the test, as they can falsely mimic atrophy of the stomach lining. H2 receptor antagonists (such as famotidine) must be stopped 48 hours before the test, and antibiotics and bismuth-containing preparations 4 weeks before, as they distort the Helicobacter result.
You do not need to arrive on an empty stomach, but smoking is strictly forbidden on the morning of the test, as it artificially raises gastrin-17 levels. You can take your regular morning medicines after the blood sample has been taken. Always agree any stopping of medication with your doctor.
