How should you prepare for the examination?

Empty stomach
Do not eat for 5–6 hours before the examination, so that gas does not obscure the organs being examined.

Smoking and chewing gum
Please avoid these before the examination: swallowed air forms bubbles in the stomach, which block the ultrasound waves.

Fluids
Drink only still water: coffee, tea and sugary drinks affect how full the gallbladder is, which can distort the result.

Bring all your previous discharge summaries and results so that our doctor can compare them with your current condition during the consultation.
