When is a rectoscopy indicated?
Vannak esetek, amikor a felszíni vizsgálat nem elegendő. A rektoszkópia a végbél mélyebb szakaszát mutatja meg — ott, ahol a végbéldaganatok jelentős része kialakul.

The course of the investigation

A deeper insight, a clearer picture
Whilst anoscopy only allows us to view the beginning of the rectum, rectoscopy enables us to examine the entire length of the rectum (approx. 20–25 cm). This distance is critical because a significant proportion of rectal cancers develop in this section, making the examination crucial for early detection.

State-of-the-art, rigid-tool technology
During the examination, we use a specialised instrument fitted with an optical system. During the procedure, we inflate the bowel walls with a small amount of air to smooth them out; whilst this may cause a sensation of tightness, it enables us to detect even the slightest abnormalities in the mucous membrane. Our specialists’ extensive experience ensures that the procedure takes as little time as possible.

Immediate diagnosis and treatment plan
At the end of the examination, you will not be left in any doubt. The doctor will immediately assess the findings, explain the nature of the lesions and draw up a treatment plan – whether this involves drug therapy, further imaging tests or specialist surgical intervention.
