Dr. Gábor Makai is a gastroenterologist and surgeon at the Endomedix Diagnostic Center in the XIII. district of Budapest.
Dr. Gábor Makai graduated from Semmelweis University in 1984, then in 1988 he obtained a degree in surgery and in 2002 in gastroenterology, he speaks English at intermediate level.
He has been working in endoscopy since 1986. In the nearly forty years since then, he has performed between 30 and 40 thousand instrument procedures. He continued his work first at the Gyula Nyírő Hospital in District XIII, then in 2007 at the Bugát Pál Hospital in Gyöngyös, and has also been available to patients in private practice for fifteen years.
He likes it when both patients and medical staff can work and cooperate in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, in calm conditions, which he believes contributes greatly to successful diagnosis and treatment, good doctor-patient relations and minimum stress. To this end, he sees an advantage in having major procedures performed under general anaesthesia where possible (colonoscopy, polypectomy, more "troublesome" gastric tests - e.g. known swallowing problems, increased pharyngeal reflex, etc.)

Dr. Makai believes that it is in everyone's common interest to have a trusting, accurate, diagnostic and curative gastroenterology service with minimal discomfort.
