Inflammation of the oral cavity - Inflammation of the oral cavity refers mainly to inflammatory processes of the oral mucosa, collectively known as stomatitis.

The causative agents of the inflammatory process can be mainly bacteria, viruses and fungi. Predisposing factors include poor oral hygiene, immunodeficiency, vitamin and trace mineral deficiencies, post-irradiation or post-chemotherapy conditions.
