Treatment of oral tumours – the earlier the disease is detected, the more likely successful treatment and a lasting recovery become.
For changes in the oral cavity, the doctor takes a tissue sample (biopsy) from the lesion.
If the histological examination confirms a oral tumour, further treatment of the lesion requires surgical procedures. This may be preceded by radiotherapy.
After surgery, further radiotherapy and possibly chemotherapy may also be needed. Throughout all of this, the patient's close cooperation is also very important.
