Small bowel cancer - tumours of the small bowel are the rarest of all tumours of the gastrointestinal tract.

They may be asymptomatic for a long time, with complaints or large size (cramping abdominal pain, bleeding, recurrent bowel obstruction, vomiting), hormone production (diarrhoea, other hormonal abnormalities) or metastasis (Liverpain in the back, abdominal pain).

Predisposing factors include older age, male sex, smoking, eating fatty foods, the presence of certain hereditary diseases and post-radiation conditions.
