Tools for examining the liver – examining the liver may require laboratory methods, imaging equipment (ultrasound, CT, MRI, fibroscan) and tools for histological examination (biopsy needle).
The liverexamination relies mainly on non-invasive procedures; histological examination is needed primarily for liverdiseases that could not be diagnosed with the previous methods, for possible liver tumours, and for chronic viral inflammation of the liver, to determine its histological activity and the damage to the tissue structure.
