Pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer - the third most common malignancy of the digestive tract.

Since the pancreascancer is mostly diagnosed at an advanced stage due to its lack of symptoms, and is one of the tumours with the worst prognosis, leading to death in most cases within a few weeks to months.

The most important predisposing factors are smoking and consumption of aromatic amines. A pancreasother risk factors for cancer include obesity, diabetes, cadmium poisoning, certain cancer syndromes (cancer family syndrome, hereditary non-polyposis syndrome, familial adenomatous polyposis syndrome), metabolic diseases and cystic fibrosis.
