Tools for examining the rectum – in addition to the digital (finger) rectal examination, fibre-optic instruments (rectoscopy, anoscopy) and pressure-measuring devices are used to examine the rectum.
Of the imaging methods, pelvic CT and MRI, as well as endoscopic ultrasound performed through the rectum, are used to assess the rectumand its surroundings.
