Rectal examination tools - in addition to digital rectal examination (fingertip), the rectum is examined using fibre-optic tools (colonoscopy, anoscopy) and pressure measuring devices.

Imaging tests include Rectumpelvic CT and MR scans and endoscopic ultrasound through the rectum are used to assess the pelvis and its environment.
