Symptoms and treatment of rectal disorders - bloody stools, rectal bleeding, feeling of "inadequate evacuation" after defecation, pelvic pain, changes in bowel movements (alternating diarrhoea and constipation), rectal discharge, difficulty in holding a bowel movement, pain during defecation, and rectumpain and itching of the skin around the rectum and the anusdiseases.

A rectumthe treatment of these diseases depends on the underlying cause. Infections and inflammations may be treated with drug therapy (pills, suppositories, enemas), while fistulas and tumours may be treated with surgery or endoscopic methods.

Both radiotherapy and chemotherapy are used to treat tumours.
