Dr Gyula Pécsi's professional specialisation
Dr. Gyula Pécsi's main professional activity in internal medicine is the diagnosis, treatment and endoscopic surgery of gastroenterological diseases.He has been performing endoscopic examinations since 1986.In 1987 he was responsible for the first endoscopic haemostasis in Győr-Moson-Sopron County, and its widespread introduction and dissemination. He performs an average of 1 500 diagnostic and surgical endoscopies per year in the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, rectum and colon, biliary tract and pancreas. In the field of endoscopic surgery for rectal and colonic polyps, he performs more than 1000 digestive endoscopic operations per year in the department he heads. In recent years he has been involved in the organisation, coordination and active implementation of several colorectal cancer screening programmes. In addition, he has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of celiac and liver diseases.
Dr. Gyula Pécsi's scientific work
Dr. Gyula Pécsi has reported on his professional activities in 4 book chapters and 17 publications and 67 citable abstracts. As a lecturer and meeting chairman, he is a regular participant of the General Meetings of the Hungarian Gastroenterological Society, the Colon Section of the Hungarian Gastroenterological Society and the Endoscopic Section of the Hungarian Gastroenterological Society. He regularly participates in the annual general meetings and training courses of the European (ESGE) and American (ASGE) Gastroenterological Societies. He has presented endoscopic polypectomy, haemostatic endoscopic surgery and endoscopic dilatation of ductal stenosis to gastroenterology colleagues at several continuing education conferences in Hungary and Europe. He is a tutor in the training of residents, family physicians, internal medicine and gastroenterology fellowship candidates. He works with his colleagues as principal investigator in phase II and III clinical trials.
