Treatment of colon cancer

Colon cancer treatment - the treatment of colorectal cancer is mainly surgical, which means removing the tumour from the intestinal section.

This may be preceded or followed by radiotherapy (especially for colorectal cancer) or chemotherapy.

Colon tumours detected at an early stage have very good survival and cure rates with today's treatment options.

The problem is that patients do not get screened, or they present to the doctor late, when the chances of treatment and survival are slim.
