Tools for examining the colon – the coloncan be examined using imaging methods (abdominal ultrasound, colon X-ray /barium enema/, abdominal X-ray, abdominal CT, virtual /CT/ colonoscopy) as well as instrumental examinations (colonoscopy /endoscopy of the large bowel/).
Tissue samples for histology can only be obtained with an instrumental examination.
