Esophageal examination

Food-pipeexamination of the oesophagus - radiological methods (swallowing X-ray, video fluoroscopic swallowing examination, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging), fibre-optic examinations (endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound), Food-pipefunctional tests (pressure measurement, pH monitoring, isotope motility testing, multichannel impedance tests) are also used.

Sampling for histological examination is only possible during endoscopic examination.
