Upper stomach pain – the main symptom of stomach diseases is upper abdominal, stomach-area pain, which can be cramping, burning or dull.
The upper stomach pain’s relationship to meals (hunger pain or pain after eating) can be characteristic of certain diseases.
A feeling of fullness, early satiety, nausea, queasiness and vomiting can also indicate stomach-related disease.
The following must always be regarded as alarm (warning) symptoms if they accompany upper stomach pain: difficulty swallowing, painful swallowing, loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, aversion to food, bleeding (black stools, vomiting blood) and impaired stomach emptying.
